1. General terms and conditions Coming about of the contract
1.1
- All contracts are considered to be in working, if either in writing or by telephone, all the necessary data to establish the contract have been received.
People under age can, lest one of the fellow travellers is of age, establish a contract as well. The following data is necessary with booking:
- Name and initials of all travellers, according to the names and initials in the passport.
- Sex of all travellers .
- Date of birth of all travellers.
- Address, postal code (Zip code), city, and phone number of the main booker.
Kritinet Island Travel is not responsible for incorrect personal travel data given by the main booker.
NB: General conditions (house rules) of the accommodation keeper can deviate from our general travel conditions. Kritinet Island Travel cannot be held responsible for this. However, during your stay in the accommodation concerned, their general conditions are binding.
- All prices are per person, and include taxes and fees, flight ticket and transfer from and to the airport of Heraklion. We do not charge booking fee!!
- At some accommodations, special child prices (2<12 years) are not specified. These accommodations charge a child between 2<12 years as an adult!
- Our general terms and conditions are applicable to all of our trips.

- When booking a trip, 25% of the total sum must be paid within 7 work days.
- The rest of the sum has to be on our bank account at the latest 6 weeks before departure.
2.General terms and conditions Confirmation
2.1Kritinet Island Travel confirms all agreements by e-mail.
The customer has to let us know in case of incorrect data, within 7 work days. Expenses resulting from faults that are found later are to be paid by the customer.
3. General terms and conditions Payment
3.1A down payment has to be made within 7 work days after the customer received the confirmation invoice.
3.2 At the latest 6 weeks before departure, the total sum has to at the Kritinet Island Travel bank account.
3.3 If the trip is booked less than 6 weeks before departure, the whole invoice sum has to be paid instantly.
3.4 In case the payment is not in time, Kritinet Island Travel can annul the agreement which will take effect immediately, in which case the terms of art. 5 are applicable and the paid sum will be settled with the cancellation fee. With this, the right of a refund of the paid amount so far is no longer in force.
4. General terms and conditions Changes made by the traveller
4.1 All changes have to be submitted to us by fax/email. These are valid if they have been confirmed by us by fax or email.
5. General terms and conditions Cancellation by the traveller/customer
All possible cancellations have to be submitted to us by the main booker exclusively by email. Should a traveller cancel the trip, he/she has to pay the following expenses:
- If the trip is cancelled 8 weeks (or earlier) before the day of departure: no costs
- If the trip is cancelled from 6 to 3 weeks before departure: 30% of the total sum;
- If the trip is cancelled from 3 weeks till the 11th day before departure: 50% of the total sum.
- If the trip is cancelled from the 10th day till the day of departure: 100% of the total sum.
6. General terms and conditions Amendments or cancellation by the tour operator
6.1 The tour operator can only amend or cancel the agreement under weighty circumstances. Weighty circumstances are of a nature, which makes it no longer reasonable to demand a bond between the tour operator and the agreement.
6.2 The tour operator will inform the traveller, with a list of reasons, within 2 work days of the amendment or cancellation.
6.3 In case of an amendment by the tour operator, the traveller has the right to cancel the trip free of charge, within a week of the above mentioned announcement. Possible sums paid ahead will be refunded within 7 work days.
6.4 The tour operator will also try to offer the travellers a trip that is equal in situation, class, and facilities.
7. General terms and conditions Liability of the travel agent
7.1 In case the offer of the travel agent (Kritinet Island Travel) does not correspond with expectations, the travel agent is liable for the damage. Expectations are interpreted as the expectations of the traveller after Greek standards, taking into account Greek customs.
7.2 Excluded from this liability are damages caused by: a) natural disasters, acts of war, terrorism and political riots; b) the trip to Greece and back and c) damage at events carried out by others, such as excursions and active programs.
7.3 The travel agent is not responsible for the mentioned damage in section 1, as far as it is not to be blamed on its fault according to Greek Law and according to Greek opinions.
7.4 Liability is excluded for damage which the usual travel and cancellation fee is supposed to cover.
7.5 In some cases, travellers can give their preference for a certain apartment. Even though Kritinet Island Travel will try to fulfil all your wishes, a preference can never be guaranteed.
8. General terms and conditions Obligations and liability of the traveller
8.1 Damage suffered by the traveller because of not being on time at pick up places, or not having the necessary travel documents etc. is at the expense of the traveller.
The participant has to ensure him/herself of the right departure times and undertake the necessary formalities, such as reaffirming the return flight at the Kritinet Island Travel office, 48 hours before departure at the latest. * You are obliged to be in the possession of a valid passport or identification card.
9.General terms and conditions Complaints
9.1 Unexpected complaints and shortcomings have to be submitted immediately at the place and time in writings to a representative of Kritinet Island Travel, giving the travel agent the opportunity to remedy any shortcomings.
9.2 Kritinet Island Travel has to be given a fair time to try to remedy the shortcomings.
9.3 Complaints that are not submitted in writing at the place and time to a representative of Kritinet Island Travel, can never lead to a refund afterwards
10.General terms and conditions General conditions
10.1 Apparent errors on the websites, in advertisements, or in email correspondence do not bind the travel agent. The travel agent is not liable if third parties make amendments, causing information in de brochures to be incorrect. The programs of the excursions can be changed to some extent.
10.2 If during the season of 2008, the VAT (Value Added Tax) regulations concerning the travel industry are amended, the travel sums will increase or decrease correspondingly.
We hold the right to charge extra in case of unexpected raises of taxes and or environmental levies.

General information
* We consider a reservation by telephone of an arrangement from our website as a definitive booking. Shortly after, we will send you an invoice.
* In Greece, people live mostly out doors and the interior of a house is less important. Therefore, according to North-european standards, the interior of accommodation are simple. Despite this, the interior decoration, especially in the kitchen, has become more and more complete. We have managed to install a coffee machine and other kitchen equipment in most of the accommodations. However, it might occur that in the kitchen of some apartments, some practical utilities such as coffee filters or can openers are missing.
* If you choose for a holiday in the low season, this has many advantages. Prices are lower and moreover it is usually quieter. You should take into account the fact that in the low season, some restaurants, shops and bars, as well as swimming pools of the accommodation may be closed.
* As you can read on our website, the majority of our accommodations are either just outside the crowded tourist centres, or in exclusive destinations where tourism is still increasing. We will try to keep possible building/constructing activities far from your holiday bed. We ask your understanding for the fact that rapidly taken initiatives for building restaurants, bars or new accommodations cannot always be foreseen by us and are not within the reach of our influence.
* If you want to shorten or lengthen the trip during your stay, all expenses have to be paid in the Kritinet Office.
* With the presentation of our accommodations, pictures of the interior have been added. We try to give you a clear as possible image of the accommodation. However, it can occur that not all interiors are similar to the pictures. The picture on the website is an indication of what you can expect. Interiors can vary in location and decoration.
* Usually you can enter your accommodation as soon as you have arrived, or at 12 o clock at the latest. You have to leave the accommodation before 10 o clock in the morning on the day of your departure. Deviation from this rule, we will try the utmost to synchronize these times with your flight schedule *We ask your understanding for other circumstances. In southern countries it can occur, because of long term drought for example, that there are malfunctions in the water and or electricity provisions. This is hardly ever for long and the concierge of the accommodation will try his/her utmost to remedy the situation. For such circumstances beyond one's control, neither the concierge nor Kritinet Island Travel is liable. |
